President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a stern warning to individuals and groups undermining the nation’s peace, declaring that they will face the “full weight of the law.”
The President made the declaration during an extended high-level security meeting at the State House on Sunday.
The meeting convened the nation’s top security brass, including the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, and the heads of other intelligence agencies.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the emergency meeting was called to review the latest security reports from across the country and to coordinate “decisive actions to stabilise the affected areas and protect our citizens.”

I am receiving continuous briefings and have directed our security services to move with speed, precision, and absolute resolve,” President Tinubu was quoted saying.
The President, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, emphasised his unwavering commitment to the security of all Nigerians, stating that his administration’s primary focus is on restoring peace and order in every part of the federation.
He directly addressed the perpetrators of violence and instability, delivering a clear and unambiguous message: โThose who threaten the peace and security of our nation will face the full weight of the law.โ
The meeting comes amid recent security challenges in several states across the country, including incidents of banditry, kidnapping, and communal clashes.
The presidency assured that the new directives issued to the security chiefs are expected to translate into more robust and coordinated operations on the ground in the coming days.
Concluding his message, President Tinubu expressed a resolute confidence in the nation’s ability to overcome its current trials, affirming, โNigeria will prevail.โ
