FULL LIST: Ahead of Convention, ADC Sets up Panels for Ward, LG, State Congresses

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has begun the process of restructuring its leadership hierarchy by setting up committees to oversee congresses at the ward, local government, and state levels across the federation.

This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday by the party’s Acting National Secretary, Tunji Lausa. He confirmed that the appointments were approved by the party’s national leadership under Nafiu Bala Gombe, in line with the ADC constitution.

The move is seen as a critical step toward the party’s national convention, as the newly appointed officials will supervise the election of new party leaders at the grassroots and state levels.

“These appointments are in accordance with the ADC Constitution. The selected officials are tasked with conducting the congresses to elect new party leaders at the respective levels,” the statement read in part.

The party has directed all appointed committee chairmen to report to the national secretariat in Abuja for a formal inauguration and briefing on the electoral process. It also urged them to ensure that fairness, justice, and internal democracy prevail throughout the exercise.

“The Party urges all appointees to be punctual and prepared to uphold the tenets of justice, fairness, and internal democracy as enshrined in the ADC constitution,” Lausa added.
