The Obidient Movement has raised a fresh alert regarding the ongoing electoral process in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), flagging a potential discrepancy in the uploading of results.
The body has also called on its supporters to peacefully mobilise to key Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices.
In a statement released on Saturday, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Global, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, disclosed that information available to the movement indicates that the INEC Result Viewing (IREV) portal is active but is failing to display results that were reportedly uploaded successfully from various polling units across the territory.
“Information reaching us indicates that the IREV server is active but not displaying results that were reportedly uploaded successfully from various polling units,” the statement read.
In response to this development, the movement is urging all “Obidients” and Nigerians at large to remain alert and vigilant. Dr. Tanko specifically called on citizens to take proactive, lawful steps to ensure the integrity of the collation process.
The statement called for a peaceful presence at two key locations: the INEC office in Area 10, and the collation centre in Karu. Supporters are encouraged to proceed to these locations to observe developments closely as results are collated.
To aid in this observation, the movement emphasized the importance of citizens arriving prepared. “Ensure that you have the accurate results from your respective polling units for proper verification,” Dr. Tanko advised, urging citizens to use their locally-sourced data to cross-check any figures announced at the collation centres.
Despite the gravity of the alert, the message was heavily underscored by a call for calm and strict adherence to the law.
“Let us remain calm, law-abiding, and committed to protecting the integrity of the electoral process through peaceful and lawful means,” the statement continued, reinforcing the movement’s commitment to non-violent advocacy.
The statement concluded with a rallying cry for the nation, echoing the movement’s core message of hope and change: “Arise and shine, Nigeria — for a New Nigeria is Possible.”
