Bashir Ahmed, former media aide to late President Muhammadu Buhari, has publicly dismissed a viral rumour claiming that Hajiya Aisha Buhari has agreed to marry former Communications Minister, Sheikh Isa Ali Pantami.
Taking to his social media accounts on Wednesday, Ahmed issued a direct refutation.
“This is not a story that should be stopped trying to deny it, because any sensible person will not take it seriously. Except since some people still spread this rumor, it’s necessary to tell the truth. The news that some people are sharing that Hajiya Aisha Buhari has agreed to marry Sheikh Isa Ali Pantami is a lie. Not even a real drug in it at all,” he wrote.
This development comes months after a separate, now debunked rumour alleged that Aisha Buhari had divorced the former president before his death.
That earlier claim was amplified by a prominent columnist, who later issued a public apology for misleading the public, though he stated he had originally received the information from sources he considered reliable.
