The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has been spotted at an art fair in London, days after it was reported he was ill and had travelled to the United Kingdom for medical treatment.
A video shared on Wednesday showed Edun at the OโDA Art Gallery booth during the 1-54 London Art Fair, in the company of two other individuals.
The sighting comes amidst confirmation that the minister would be absent from a major global financial event.
It was previously reported that Edun, who was initially receiving treatment in Nigeria, had travelled to the UK for further medical attention.
Consequently, he will not be attending this yearโs World Bank and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings in Washington, D.C., a key gathering for global finance leaders.
The Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, is now leading Nigeriaโs delegation to the meetings, which commenced on Tuesday, October 14.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, had earlier confirmed the minister’s illness.
