Crayon, the Nigerian singer, set social media abuzz on Sunday evening after a series of rants on X, calling out the leadership of Mavin Records and hinting at a possible exit from the label.
In his posts, the 28-year-old songwriter, born Charles Chibueze Chukwu, mixed playful camaraderie with sharp accusations. He began by referencing Mavin founder Don Jazzy, tweeting, “Don jazzy na my boy!!!!!! Una dey maddddd!!?? Shayennnnn sharayyyyyy333.”
He then turned his attention to the label’s chief operating officer, Tega Oghenejobo, writing, “Tega highest criminal!!!!!!!!!”
Crayon, who joined Blowtime Entertainment, an imprint of Mavin Records, in May 2019, did not hold back in expressing his frustrations with the label, declaring, “Mavin is going down!!!!!!” He further called out one of the label’s biggest stars, tweeting, “Rema for the next 100 years no feature. You stole my star from me. Yeah I took tha shiiiiii backkkkk hoeeeeerrrr!!!!! Snakkkkkkkeeeeeesssssssss.”
The fiery posts have sparked speculation about Crayon’s future with Mavin Records and drawn reactions from fans and industry watchers alike, with many waiting to see if the singer will follow through on his threats.
