Legendary Juju musician, King Sunny Ade, has been declared missing by his daughter, Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye, sparking widespread concern on social media.
In a series of viral posts, Damilola alleged that King Sunny Ade had been kidnapped by his stepbrother and manager, Dayo, along with other family members.
She also detailed the singerโs declining health and accused his alleged abductors of exploiting him financially and professionally.
On April 28, 2025, media personality @Akanbitheduke took to Instagram to amplify Damilolaโs pleas, explaining in a lengthy post that he had personally attempted to contact the 78-year-old music icon before a friend reached out to him on the daughterโs behalf.
According to Akanbi, efforts by King Sunny Adeโs close associates to reach him had repeatedly failed.
He further noted that Damilola claimed her father had been unreachable for some time and accused his stepbrother, Dayo, and other relatives of being responsible for the abduction.
King Sunny Adeโs daughter also alleged that the group had been forcing the music legend to sign up for multiple performances without actually delivering shows, thereby tarnishing his reputation.
She claimed that the same individuals controlled King Sunny Adeโs finances to the detriment of his biological children.
Damilolaโs concern reportedly escalated after her last conversation with her father.
She alleged that he sounded distressed during their call, and that the phone was abruptly taken from him.
Akanbi wrote in part: โWhat further created serious worry for Damilola, according to her, was that the last time she spoke to KSA, he sounded distressed, and the phone was quickly taken away from him. Ever since, he has not been reachable. Although Damilola had since embarked on a personal rigorous campaign for her father, it seemed like her voice had been drowned by the fact that no one reckoned with her.โ
The situation has stirred massive public concern, with fans and well-wishers demanding urgent clarification and intervention to ensure King Sunny Adeโs safety.
