The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has issued an official public notice announcing the next phase of its ongoing nationwide recruitment exercise. In the statement signed by the Secretary to the Board, Major General (Rtd.) A.M. Jibril, the Board expressed appreciation to members of the public for their patience and understanding during the process, assuring that the recruitment exercise remains on course and will soon advance to its next stage.
According to the statement, a Computer-Based Test (CBT) has been scheduled to hold in the coming days for applicants who have been successfully shortlisted across the thirty-six states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory. The Board explained that the CBT will form a major part of the selection process for candidates seeking positions within the four services under its supervision.
The statement further directed all applicants who had earlier applied for various positions in any of the four services to visit the Board’s official recruitment portal, https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, beginning next week to confirm their eligibility. Applicants are expected to check if they have been shortlisted to take part in the CBT, as well as to verify their designated examination centres and the specific times for their tests. The Board stated that this step is crucial in ensuring that applicants receive accurate and direct information regarding their status in the recruitment exercise.
The CDCFIB also took the opportunity to warn applicants against the activities of scammers and fraudulent agents who may attempt to exploit the recruitment exercise for personal gain. It emphasized that the only authentic and reliable source of information regarding the process is the official portal stated above. Major General Jibril cautioned applicants to disregard any messages, calls, or social media posts demanding payment or claiming to have influence over the selection process. According to him, the Board’s recruitment exercise is free of charge and strictly merit-based.
The public notice reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to transparency, fairness, and accountability in the recruitment of new personnel into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Nigerian Correctional Service, the Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Immigration Service. The Board noted that the use of a computer-based testing system is aimed at ensuring efficiency, reducing human interference, and providing equal opportunity to all qualified applicants irrespective of their background or location.
The ongoing recruitment process is considered one of the most significant multi-agency recruitment efforts in the country, designed to strengthen the operational capacity of key national institutions responsible for internal security, border management, correctional services, and emergency response. Through the exercise, the Federal Government seeks to fill critical manpower gaps and enhance service delivery within these institutions.
The notice, dated October 21, 2025, and signed by Major General (Rtd.) A.M. Jibril, concluded by urging all applicants to remain vigilant, patient, and law-abiding as the process continues. It reminded the public that the Board will continue to provide timely updates through its verified platforms and that any deviation from official communication channels should be treated with suspicion.
“All applicants are enjoined to take note of the Board’s portal address highlighted above to avoid being scammed,” the notice read.
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board reiterated that it remains committed to conducting a credible recruitment exercise that will produce competent officers capable of contributing effectively to national security and public service delivery.
