The Yobe State Police Command has announced a seventy per cent reduction in its crime rate for the third quarter of 2025.
Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Ado, speaking on Tuesday in Damaturu, attributed the significant drop to a series of coordinated measures. These included coordinated patrols, raids on criminal hideouts, and enhanced visibility policing across the state’s major towns and villages.
Mr Ado stated that this achievement was made possible through effective collaboration between the police, sister security agencies, local vigilante groups, and the active cooperation of state residents.
In preparation for the upcoming ‘Ember months’—a period when criminal activity traditionally increases nationwide—the Commissioner confirmed that the Command has implemented proactive security strategies. These measures involve grassroots engagements with Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and officers in charge of outstations and outposts to facilitate analytical assessments of emerging crime trends.
The Commissioner commended the Yobe State Government for its continued support and urged all residents to remain vigilant and report any criminal or suspicious activity promptly to the police.
