The Minister of Works, David Umahi, and the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, have met to review the progress of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano expressway as part of effort to fast track the ongoing road project.
The meeting, which took place in Abuja, was called by Governor Uba Sani to ensure the vital road project is finished on time. The leaders focused particularly on the busy Abuja to Kaduna section, a route used by millions for travel and trade every day.
Governor Uba Sani stressed the road’s national importance, calling it an “economic corridor” that connects people and businesses across the northern part of the country. He said the project is a key part of President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda for improving national infrastructure.
In response, Minister Umahi praised the Governor for his active involvement. He promised that the Federal Government is committed to finishing the road quickly.
To make this happen, Mr Umahi revealed that contractors have been instructed to work double shifts to accelerate the pace of work. He also assured the public that the road is being built with strong concrete technology, which is designed to last longer and cost less to maintain in the future.
The Kaduna State Government pledged its full support to the Federal Ministry of Works, promising to help resolve any local issues that could slow down the construction.
Both leaders pledged their shared commitment to the timely completion of the expressway, describing it as a symbol of national unity and a project that will transform lives and boost the economy.
