Governor Senator Uba Sani (CON) has appointed Musa Gambo Illallah (FCNA, ACCrFA) as the substantive Accountant General of Kaduna State, effective immediately.
The appointment, announced on Thursday by Ibraheem Musa, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, is part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to institutionalise prudence, transparency, and effectiveness in the management of public finances.
In his new role, Illallah is charged with the responsibility of maintaining the financial records of the Kaduna State Government and enforcing financial regulations across all state ministries, departments, and agencies.
Until his elevation, Illallah served as Director of Treasury Operations at the Office of the Accountant General, Kaduna State. He previously held several key positions, including Deputy Director of Finance and Account at the Kaduna Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), Zonal Accountant at the Ministry of Land, Survey & Country Planning, and Divisional Accountant at the Ministry of Education.
An indigene of Jema’a Local Government Area, Illallah began his career in 1983 as a clerical officer with ILCO (Nig) Limited in Kafanchan. He later worked as an accountant with Zuma (Nig) Limited before joining the Kaduna State Ministry of Agriculture as Accountant II under a World Bank-assisted project.
Illallah holds a National Diploma and a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. He is a Certified National Accountant (CAN) and a member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN). He also belongs to the Chartered Institute of Forensic and Certified Fraud Investigation of Nigeria and has attended executive courses at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPS), Kuru.
Governor Uba Sani congratulated the new Accountant General and urged him to bring his extensive private and public sector experience to bear on the assignment. The Governor challenged Illallah to rededicate himself to ensuring the continued effective and efficient financial management for which Kaduna State is known.
