The White House has launched a round-the-clock streaming service called “Trump TV,” giving the administration a direct line to viewers without the filter of traditional broadcasters.
The channel was announced on the White House’s official X account on Monday, with officials saying the feed would be refreshed in real time. It is available on the White House website and its YouTube page, and carries the formal title “TRUMP TV: The Essentials Station.”
According to the White House, the platform will carry the administration’s “biggest moments” — recorded remarks, announcements and highlights — packaged for continuous viewing.
The first broadcast did not feature a live event. It opened with previously recorded footage, including Trump’s July 3 address at Mount Rushmore.
The launch lands in the middle of a bitter fight over press access to the White House.
Trump recently barred CNN, Politico and MS NOW from White House grounds. The three organisations responded by suing the administration.
Major television networks — ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC — then suspended their shared White House pool coverage in solidarity with the affected outlets.
The White House has defended its restrictions, while Trump has continued to attack what he calls unfair or “fake news” coverage of his administration.
The channel effectively allows the White House to distribute its own video directly to the public, reducing its dependence on the networks that have historically carried presidential events.
