In a series of coordinated operations across the North-East between 16 and 19 June 2026, troops of Operation HADIN KAI delivered multiple blows to terrorist elements, forcing them to flee in disarray.
The first major success came on 16 June, when the 135 Special Forces Battalion EOD Team, backed by a Quick Reaction Force, acted on intelligence from local residents. The troops moved to the Biu–Buratai Road, where they located and safely detonated five IED cylinders planted by terrorists along the route. No casualties were recorded.
Two days later, troops of the 153 Task Force Battalion engaged a large group of terrorists on about 60 motorcycles along the Miyanti–Ngoshe axis. Although the insurgents opened fire first, the soldiers responded with superior firepower, sending the attackers retreating towards Miyanti. While the number of terrorist casualties remains unconfirmed, the troops recovered 817 rounds of ammunition, three motorcycles, two solar panels, and various spare parts.
On 19 June, the 27 Task Force Brigade Garrison made a crucial breakthrough at a checkpoint, arresting two suspected logistics suppliers—Mohammed Bukar, 35, and Iliyasu Abdullahi, 26—who were transporting fuel and relief materials to BHT/ISWAP fighters in a cyan Volkswagen vehicle.
These operations underscore the military’s resolve to dismantle terrorist logistics and deny them any safe haven. The military has also called on the public to continue providing credible intelligence, which remains vital to sustaining these gains.
