Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the suspended lawmaker representing Kogi Central, has challenged Senate President Godswill Akpabio to take legal action over her allegations that he was plotting to kill her.
Speaking on Channels Televisionโs Politics Today on Thursday, Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that she had received information suggesting Akpabio intends to sue her.
โI am hearing that the Senate President wants to sue me for that, I will tell him to go ahead. We will meet and cross that bridge,โ she said.
On Tuesday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio contracted the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, to commence her recall and assassination.
Akpoti-Uduaghan made this allegation while addressing his constituents at a rally held in Ihima, Kogi Central, on Tuesday.
She alleged that Akpabio initially contacted Usman Ododo to commence her recall, but the stateโs incumbent governor โtold him it would be impossible because the masses are with her.โ
The lawmaker further alleged that Akpabio, dissatisfied with Ododoโs response, asked Bello to ensure her recall and assassination, with a promise to fund the processes.
โBut Akpabio was not satisfied; he then called for Yahaya Bello. It was Senator Asuquo who drove Yahaya Bello to the Hiltons. I was informed,โ Akpoti-Uduaghan said.
โThe meeting was in two folds; he told him to commence my recall. He was going to fund it. Of course, money changed hands that day. The second thing was that he should kill me.โ
She added, โAkpabio told Yahaya Bello to kill me. Akpabio told him to make sure that killing me does not happen in Abuja. It should be done here. So it will seem as if the people killed me here. I didnโt make that public, but we did notify the police about it.โ
But when asked if she could substantiate her allegation, Akpoti-Uduaghan, said, โIf you are doubting the veracity of the killing, what about the recall that we just
