Veteran Nollywood actress, Jumoke George, whose emotional appeal for assistance went viral on Tuesday, has received N5 million in support from Spear News Media and Investments, alongside its partners to help her address her challenges.
The actress confirmed the payment into her GTBank account on Tuesday evening through Mr. Sunday Wale Adeniran, who facilitated the aid.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, she thanked the donors and offered prayers for their kindness in her time of need. She also thanked the facilitator, Mr. Adeniran for using his platform to support her.
Earlier, Jumoke had shared her heartbreaking struggles in a public plea, detailing her deteriorating health, homelessness, and the pain of searching for her missing child.
During an interview on the TalkToB show, hosted by fellow actress Abiola Adebayo, she broke down in tears while recounting her ordeal, living in a church, battling illness, and clinging to hope amid despair.
In the clip shared by Biola on Instagram on Tuesday, Jumoke said, โPlease pray for me, mothers in the world. Help me with your prayers. I have never ruined anyone life. I am tired, I can no longer bare it.
โI donโt have a home, I donโt have anything and a child of mine is missing. I donโt have good health, I am tired and exhausted. Iโm living in the church, most times itโs the church mummy that feeds me.โ
According to the actress, her first child, Adeola, has been missing for the past four years.
Jumoke said she has been the sole provider for her grandchildren amid deteriorating health and dire living conditions.
She added, โI have tried as a Christian. My first born, Adeola, has been missing for the past four years. Deola clocked 41 on May 1. Iโm the one catering for the children.
โI have been sick since January 2 and I have tried my best as a human. I donโt know, I have done several tests and now I want to do brain and heart tests and itโs N400,000. I donโt know where to get the money from.
โI donโt sleep because Iโm always in pain. Everything is wrong with me. I donโt understand anymore. I have put that child in so much debt.โ
Meanwhile, the President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan (Mr. Latin), has expressed his appreciation to the anonymous donor, Spear News, and everyone involved after being informed of the N5 million donation to George.
Also, Dr. Biola Adebayo, who interviewed her in the viral video, has also reached out to thank the donor, Spear News, and all the kind individuals who came to her aid.
