Graduates in Sokoto State can apply for new government roles from Monday, September 22, as a major recruitment drive gets underway.
The scheme, which aims to hire qualified local indigenes, will accept applications until October 6, 2025. The Secretary of the Recruitment Committee, Gandi Muhammad, confirmed the dates in a statement on Saturday.
Prospective candidates must first collect their forms at no cost from their local government office. The application itself is then completed online at the official portal: https://employment.sokotostate.gov.ng.
The process requires a valid email and phone number for registration. Applicants must also upload key documents, including educational certificates, proof of indigene, a birth certificate, and their National Identification Number. A photograph must also be taken during the online registration.
The committee issued a strong warning that the process is completely free. It cautioned that submitting multiple forms will result in disqualification.
The statement confirmed that “shortlisted applicants will be notified through their registered email or via the portal,” adding that “any further tests or screening will be communicated officially.”
All hopefuls were advised to use a stable internet connection for their registration and to ignore any requests for payment.
This exercise follows Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s recent approval to form a committee for recruiting into the civil service. The goal is to fill 3,000 posts across the state’s 23 local government areas to tackle unemployment and boost essential services.
The initiative specifically targets unemployed young graduates with NCE, HND, or degree qualifications.
