In a decisive response to the deadly assault on Kasuwan Daji Community in Niger State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered a coordinated manhunt targeting the perpetrators.
He has directed the nation’s top security agencies to track down the terrorists responsible and ensure the swift rescue of all abducted victims.
The President issued the directive on Sunday, condemning in the strongest terms the recent killings and abductions in the state. The attack is suspected to have been carried out by terrorists fleeing military pressure in neighbouring Sokoto and Zamfara States.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu mandated the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) to apprehend those behind the attack and bring them to justice.
“These terrorists have tested the resolve of our country and its people. They must, therefore, face the full consequences of their criminal actions. No matter who they are or what their intent is, they must be hunted down. They, and all those who aid, abet, or enable them in any form, will be caught and brought to justice”, the President directed.
President Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the Government, and the people of Niger State.
He assured residents that security operations would be intensified around vulnerable communities, particularly those near forest areas that serve as hideouts for criminal elements.
Emphasising national unity, the President urged citizens to remain resolute and cautioned against divisive rhetoric that could undermine security and cohesion.
“These times demand our humanity. We must stand together as one people and confront these monsters in unison. United, we can and must defeat them, deny them any sanctuary. We must reclaim the peace and security of these attacked communities”, he said.
