President Tinubu Commends Military for Eliminating Bandit Leader Ibrahim Bastuji and Rescue of General’s Widow

….Says Nigeria will not surrender any part of its territory to criminals

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for two successful operations in Kogi State, which resulted in the elimination of notorious bandit kingpin Ibrahim Bastuji and the safe rescue of Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar, widow of the late former Chief of Defence Information, General Rabe Abubakar (rtd).

The President described the operation that neutralised Bastuji as a significant blow to criminal networks that have long terrorised communities in Kogi and neighbouring states.

He noted that Bastuji’s reign of violence, kidnapping, and attacks on civilians had inflicted untold hardship on residents, and his death will restore confidence and provide respite for the area.

“I congratulate our gallant troops on this decisive milestone,” President Tinubu said. “Nigeria will not surrender any part of its territory to criminals. Those who choose the path of violence against innocent citizens will find no hiding place. This success reflects the renewed determination of our security forces to secure every inch of our land.”

In a separate but equally significant operation, the President also commended the troops for the rescue of Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar, describing the mission as a demonstration of high professionalism and the determination required to confront forces of evil.

He expressed relief that she had been safely returned to her family.

“The safe return of Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar is a source of relief to her family and to all Nigerians,” the President added. “I commend the intelligence coordination and bravery of the officers and men who executed the rescue operation. We owe a debt of gratitude to our troops who risk their lives daily to keep us safe.”

President Tinubu reassured Nigerians that the Federal Government will continue to provide the Armed Forces with the resources, training, and support needed to end banditry, kidnapping, and all forms of violent crimes.

He urged citizens to maintain cooperation with security agencies by providing timely information and necessary support.
