The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled three-hour power interruption in parts of Delta State on Thursday, August 6, 2025, to carry out essential maintenance on its 132kV Ughelli-Effurun transmission line.
The maintenance, scheduled between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, aims to repair a hotspot on the overhead jumper conductor clamp to improve the line’s reliability.
As a result, the Delta Transmission Substation will be temporarily shut down, affecting bulk power supply to the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC).
Areas to be impacted include Ughelli, Effurun, Warri, and surrounding communities, where electricity supply will be suspended for the duration of the maintenance.
TCN assured residents that the exercise is necessary to prevent future faults and enhance service stability.
Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager of Public Affairs, apologized for the inconvenience while urging affected customers to prepare for the brief outage.
“We regret any disruption this may cause and appreciate the public’s understanding as we work to ensure a more reliable power supply,” she stated.
The maintenance aligns with TCN’s ongoing efforts to upgrade Nigeria’s electricity infrastructure. Customers have been advised to make necessary arrangements and stay updated via TCN’s official communication channels.
