The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has officially confirmed through its registry that Chief Uche Nnaji Nwakabia was duly admitted into the institution in 1981 and graduated in 1985, putting to rest recent speculation about his academic credentials.
The confirmation comes in response to growing public inquiry about the minister’s educational background.

The Office of the Registrar issued a formal letter dated December 21, 2023, addressed to the People Gazette newspaper, providing definitive clarification on the matter.
According to the official communication from the university administration, their records unequivocally show that Chief Nnaji commenced his studies at the prestigious institution in 1981 and successfully completed his degree programme four years later in 1985.
The university’s statement serves as the authoritative source on all matters concerning student admissions and graduations, making this confirmation the final word on the subject.
This development followed recent media reports that had questioned the authenticity of Chief Nnaji’s academic qualification.
The reports from the registrar’s office provide concrete evidence from institutional records to settle the matter conclusively.
