The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in 2023, Peter Obi, has donated 10 and 5 million naira to Malikiya College of Nursing Sciences and Intissharu Taufizul Quranic Islamic respectively in Bauchi State.
Obi who on Friday paid a visit to both schools and made the donation to support the students, said that it is human infrastructure that drives health.
โThe nurse is more important than the doctor. The doctor is the nurse, the patient. The nurse owns the patient. The nurse is everything. It is predicted that by 2030, the world will be full of nurses. So you are leading an important cause. So I thank you, the prophet, for what you are doing here.
โWe need to help. We need to support what you are doing. What you are doing is for the benefit of society. And for those of us, it is not politics. I visit approximately 70 nursing schools annually to support them,โ he said.
He proceeded to the Yelwa area of Bauchi metropolis to donate N5 million in cash to the Islamiyya School, stating that he had to contribute to the schoolโs activities.
Our children must learn, learn the teachings of Islam to help them live a better life and learn English and Maths to become scientists.โ He stated.
