The Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) has described as false and mischievous, claims by Daniel Bwala that its principal, Peter Obi, sought to engage him for political assistance in 2023.
In a statement issued on Friday, POMR described Bwala’s claims as baseless, adding that the former Anambra State governor has no interest in transactional politics or engaging individuals with a history of dishonesty.
According to the Obi media office, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate would rather channel resources toward providing desks for children in Bwala’s village than pay anyone to manufacture falsehoods for public consumption.
“Normally, we would not dignify Barr Bwala’s baseless accusations with a reply, given his well-documented history of dishonesty. However, we feel it is necessary to address this matter for the benefit of the public, who may be misled,” the statement read.
POMR clarified that Obi’s political approach is rooted in persuasion and shared vision, not financial inducement.
“Our principal, Peter Obi, has made it clear that he excludes individuals like Bwala from his political activities and any form of transactional politics that sustain people like him in political circles,” the statement added.
The media office urged those involved in transactional politics to reconsider their actions, warning that such practices harm society and jeopardize the future of Nigerian children.
POMR also called on Bwala to retrace his steps and join the movement for a better Nigeria, stressing that the Obi project welcomes only those driven by genuine conviction.
“For the umpteenth time, we call on Bwala and others like him to count Peter Obi out of their greed, repent, and join us in the quest for a new Nigeria that is indeed POssible,” the statement concluded.
