A delegation of prominent Nigerian Diaspora leaders paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, on Tuesday to commend his transformative leadership in the aviation sector.
The delegation, which included Prince Ade Omole, Dr David Adesanya, and Dr Ruqayya Ahmed, specifically praised the Minister’s achievements in restoring international confidence, resolving trapped airline funds, modernising infrastructure, reopening key international routes, and strengthening regulatory systems.
Speaking during the visit, Prince Ade Omole highlighted the profound impact of these reforms: “As Diaspora Nigerians, we are the ones most affected by the improved state of our aviation sector.
These reforms have made travel safer, more affordable, and more dignified. We now feel more connected to home.”
He further added, “Minister Keyamo has not only delivered results but has restored pride in our aviation identity. We came to say thank you and to encourage him to keep going.”
The delegation noted these improvements have been particularly beneficial for Nigerians abroad who frequently travel to and from the country.
The delegation also presented forward-looking suggestions to deepen reforms and enhance Diaspora engagement, including the promotion of Diaspora investment in aviation-linked infrastructure and a greater push to align aviation growth with national development goals.
Minister Keyamo appreciated the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on President Bola Ahmed Tinubuโs Renewed Hope Agenda for the aviation sector.
