The new commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara, Bala Bodinga, has pledged to fight crime in the state through collaboration with other security agencies.
Briefing journalists on Thursday in Ilorin, Mr Bodinga said, โI am here to ensure the things that need to be put in place for the protection of critical national assets, infrastructure of the state, including lives and properties, are addressed.
โI have directed that henceforth, all Jummah services in mosques and all Sunday services in churches should be adequately protected with NSCDC security operatives.
โThis is to ensure the security of lives and properties in collaboration with other security agencies.โ
Mr Bodinga said the corps already collaborates with other security agencies and local guards regarding the stateโs kinetic, scientific, and operational architecture.
โThe synergy with other security agencies is active, and we will double our effort to give Kwara and the nation as a whole the best security.
โThe operation of NSCDC under my watch is going to be effective. I have already started,โ he said.
Mr Bodinga said that more officers and men have already been deployed to areas such as Kaiama, in Kwara North, following recent bandit attacks.
โGive me some time, and you will see a new Kwara,โ he said.
