NEDC Strengthens Support for Women Journalists in Journalists (NAWOJ), Bauchi State Chapter, in a move aimed at supporting their welfare and alleviating the impact of current economic challenges.
The distribution exercise, held in Bauchi, brought together members of the association who received the food packages as part of the Commission’s humanitarian support initiatives across the North-East region.
The NEDC intervention underscores the Commission’s commitment to improving the well-being of citizens and strengthening partnerships with professional groups that contribute to societal development.
The Chairperson of NAWOJ in Bauchi State Hajiya Rashida Yusuf, lauded the Commission for the gesture, describing it as a demonstration of concern for the welfare of women journalists.
She noted that the support would provide relief to members and their families, while encouraging them to remain committed to the ethical practice of journalism and service to society.
According to her, women journalists continue to play a crucial role in promoting public awareness, advocating for social development, and amplifying the voices of vulnerable groups.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the NEDC for the timely intervention, saying the food items would help ease the burden of rising living costs.
