In a decisive escalation of operations, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has killed several Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists and bandits in a series of coordinated airstrikes across three states.
The intensified raids, executed on November 9, 2025, targeted terrorist strongholds in Borno State and bandit enclaves in Kwara and Katsina States, marking a significant phase in the ongoing joint military campaigns.
According to a statement from the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, precision strikes were carried out based on real-time intelligence. In Borno, NAF assets struck locations southeast of Shuwaram and areas near Mallam Fatori in the Lake Chad Basin, where ISWAP fighters were observed mobilizing.
“The strikes destroyed insurgent hideouts, logistics hubs, and weapons storage facilities, eliminating several terrorists and crippling their mobility capabilities,” the statement read.
Simultaneously, in Kwara State, air interdiction missions devastated identified bandit camps in Garin Dandi and Chigogo. In a related operation in Katsina State, the hideout of a terrorist kingpin at Zango Hill in Kankara was struck, destroying key logistics and neutralizing several fighters.
The operations extended into the wider northwestern corridor, with armed reconnaissance missions covering parts of Zamfara, Kebbi, and Kaduna States. During these missions, terrorists spotted on motorcycles near Wam Hill were engaged and neutralized.
The NAF attributed the success of these widespread operations to a renewed offensive tempo directed by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, who recently ordered air component commanders to “fly smarter and strike harder.”
This military push follows President Bola Tinubu’s pledge last week to intensify the fight against terrorism and criminality in Nigeria.
