As part of preparations for the forthcoming Maulud celebrations, the Wunti Alkhair Foundation has distributed food items to 400 Islamic schools and 200 Islamic singers across Bauchi State.
Volunteer media assistant of the foundation, Isiyaka Ismail Wunti, said the donation was aimed at supporting the Muslim community to mark the Maulud festival with ease. He noted that the organisation had carried out similar interventions during Ramadan and Eid celebrations.
According to him, the items included 632 bags of rice for the schools through their union, Riyadul Islam, and 744 bags for the singers under the association, Shu’araunnabi.
Presenting the donations, the foundation’s legal officer, Umar Abubakar Magaji, said the gesture was part of ongoing efforts to promote the welfare of Muslims in Bauchi. He urged the leaders of the two groups to ensure transparent and equitable distribution of the items.
In their response, the state chairmen of the beneficiaries’ groups, Ibrahim Baba Karami and Nasiru Sudani, commended the foundation for what they described as an unprecedented act of generosity.
“We are deeply grateful for the support. This gesture will ease our burdens and enable us to continue our activities with comfort,” they said.
