Newly unsealed court documents from the estate of the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein contain unverified allegations that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates contracted a sexually transmitted disease (STD) following encounters with Russian women.
The claims are found in over 3 million pages of material released by the Justice Department. They include draft emails purportedly written by Epstein himself in July 2013.
In these drafts, Epstein details what he describes as “morally inappropriate to potentially illegal” actions he claims he facilitated for Gates.
The documents allege that Epstein assisted Gates with obtaining drugs, arranging extramarital affairs, and procuring Adderall for bridge tournaments. The specific allegation regarding the STD stems from encounters with “Russian girls,” according to the drafts.
The files also describe a falling out between Gates and his then-science adviser, Boris Nikolic, who was also an Epstein associate. The drafts claim that Gates, with “tears in his eyes,” asked Nikolic to delete emails that referenced the STD, requests for antibiotics, and other personal information.
None of these allegations have been independently verified. A representative for Bill Gates has previously and consistently denied any close friendship or business partnership with Epstein. The release is part of ongoing legal proceedings related to Epstein’s network and adds to the public scrutiny of the many high-profile individuals he associated with.
The documents, while containing serious allegations, are composed of drafts, claims, and correspondence from Epstein and his associates. Legal experts caution that their contents are unproven and should be viewed as allegations within a larger trove of material being examined by investigators and the media.
