The National Examination Council (NECO) has officially announced the results for the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). The Registrar and Chief Executive of the council, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, disclosed that 60.26 percent of candidates achieved five credits and above, including the crucial subjects of English Language and Mathematics.
Professor Wushishi released the figures at a press briefing held on Wednesday at the NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State. He provided a detailed breakdown of the results, stating, “The number of candidates with five Credits and above, including Mathematics and English is 818,492, representing 60.26%.”
He further announced a significant performance level when the two core subjects are not considered, noting that 1,144,496 candidates, representing 84.26%, secured five credits and above irrespective of English and Mathematics.
Providing registration and participation statistics, the Registrar disclosed that a total of 1,367,210 candidates registered for the examination. The gender distribution was nearly equal, with 685,514 male and 681,696 female registrants. Ultimately, 1,358,339 candidates sat for the examination, comprising 680,292 males and 678,047 females.
