A Federal High Court in Lagos has cleared former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, of all money laundering allegations filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The court accepted Fayose’s no-case submission, declaring that the prosecution did not provide enough evidence to proceed with the trial. This decision effectively ends the long-running case, as the judge determined the EFCC failed to prove a strong enough case to require a defense.
Fayose had faced charges related to money laundering and fraud during his time as governor. After years of legal battles, the court concluded that the evidence presented by the EFCC was inadequate to support the accusations.
