The Independent National Electoral Commission has presented Certificates of Return to the winners of the recent by-elections for the Senate and the House of Representatives.
The presentation took place on Thursday at the INEC headquarters in Abuja, where National Commissioners handed over the certificates to the newly elected officials.
Those receiving certificates for the Senate included Emmanuel Nwachukwu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, elected to represent Anambra South, and Joseph Ikpea of the All Progressives Congress, who won the Edo Central Senatorial District.
INEC also presented certificates to five new members of the House of Representatives. The winners are:
· Omosede Igbinedion of the APC for the Ovie North East and Ovie South West Federal Constituency in Edo State.
· Mukhtar Rabi’u Garki of the APC for the Babura/Garki Federal Constituency in Jigawa State.
· Fidelix Bagudu of the APC for the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna State.
· Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji of the APC for the Ikenne/Shagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency in Ogun State.
· Fola Oyekunle of the Peoples Democratic Party for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency in Oyo State.
