In a decisive operation deep within the notorious Sububu Forests of Zamfara State, troops have delivered a significant blow to terrorist elements, neutralizing six fighters and rescuing a kidnapped underage victim.

The operation, conducted by the 8 Division Garrison Strike Force under Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 2 in Maradun Local Government Area, targeted terrorist enclaves with the dual aim of dismantling their infrastructure and rescuing abducted civilians.

The offensive began with a targeted engagement at Indulumu village, where troops confronted and killed two terrorists, recovering one AK-47 rifle. Undeterred, the strike force advanced to Ruduno village, where a fierce firefight resulted in the neutralization of four more terrorists. The engagement yielded further critical recoveries: another AK-47 rifle, a magazine loaded with 28 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and two motorcycles used by the group for logistics. The motorcycles were destroyed on-site to cripple the terrorists’ mobility.
The operation achieved a profound humanitarian breakthrough when, during exploitation deeper into the forest, troops successfully located and rescued a kidnapped underage victim, identified as Halira Ibrahim. Her rescue ends a traumatic ordeal and stands as a central success of the mission.
To ensure long-term disruption, troops systematically destroyed multiple terrorist camps and life-support structures located in Magaji, Galakaje, Filinga, and Kukatara. This action is designed to deny the terrorists safe havens and logistical support, severely hampering their ability to regroup and operate in the area.
