The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has commissioned a state-of-the-art Police Mechanical Workshop and deployed 40 tactical vehicles to bolster the operational efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
The move, announced on Thursday in Abuja, is part of broader efforts to enhance the Forceโs capacity to tackle security challenges and protect citizens.
The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, reaffirmed the NPFโs commitment to public safety, urging citizens to support security efforts.
The newly inaugurated workshop, located in Dei-Dei, Abuja, is equipped with cutting-edge technology to maintain operational vehicles, ensuring swift responses to emergencies. According to the IGP, the facility will minimize vehicle downtime and sustain mobility during critical operations.
Additionally, 40 tactical vehicles, including anti-riot water cannon trucks and Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs), were commissioned at the Force Headquarters. These assets are expected to strengthen the NPFโs ability to combat crime and maintain public order.
In a stern warning, IGP Egbetokun declared that the Police would not tolerate any threats to national peace. โTo individuals and groups disrupting Nigeriaโs tranquility, be warned: the Nigeria Police Force will come for you. We will act proactively, strategically, and decisively to run you out of town,โ he stated.
