The criminal empire of notorious bandit kingpin Ado Aleiro is reeling after a fierce military encounter in Katsina State left his son, eight relatives, and an entire fleet of motorcycles destroyed.
Security sources confirmed that troops engaged Aleiro’s heavily armed group in Doma village, where a prolonged firefight resulted in heavy casualties on the bandits’ side. Among the dead were Aleiro’s biological son and eight other family members who were part of his inner circle.
Perhaps more damaging to the gang’s future operations was the total loss of approximately 30 motorcycles. These bikes served as the lifeblood of the syndicate, enabling rapid raids on villages, swift escape from security forces, and transportation of looted goods across the rugged North-West terrain.
With every single motorcycle either destroyed or captured, Aleiro’s ability to project power across Katsina and Zamfara states has been severely compromised.
In the aftermath of the clash, intelligence monitoring picked up Aleiro moving solo on a single motorcycle through rural routes connecting Sakya Dutse, Higi, and Asaula. His solitary movement suggests a man who has lost the bulk of his fighting force and is now struggling to regroup.
Insiders further reveal that Aleiro is increasingly worried about the safety of his illicit mining operations near Gidan Buhari in Zamfara’s Tsafe district. With his manpower depleted and his mobility shattered, he fears that local vigilante groups—who have grown bolder in recent months—may now storm his stronghold and seize control of the lucrative site.
