Following the prayers, the lawmaker met with members of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ijebu-Igbo, where discussions centred on peace, sacrifice and communal harmony.
Speaking afterward, Kashamu said Eid-el-Kabir goes beyond celebration and should serve as a reminder of the need to support vulnerable members of society.
“In the true spirit of Eid, I embarked on an outreach to support children, women, the elderly, persons living with disabilities, and many others who simply need a helping hand and a reason to smile,” he said.
He added that acts of compassion and kindness remain essential, particularly during periods of economic hardship affecting many Nigerians.
“Eid reminds us that beyond the festivities, our greatest duty lies in showing love to one another, lifting the weak, feeding the hungry and comforting the hopeless,” Kashamu stated.
The lawmaker also prayed for peace, stability and prosperity in Ijebu-Igbo and across the country.
Hon. Abdulrasheed Kashamu is the son of late former Senator Buruji Kashamu and represents Ijebu North Constituency I in the Ogun State
