Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, Wednesday set up the All Progressives Congress (APC) reconciliation committees for the three senatorial districts of the state.
Spear News Nigeria gathered that the committees were set up to engage with party members, assuage the feelings of aspirants and their supporters who were unsuccessful in the just concluded party primaries, and foster unity ahead of the upcoming 2027 elections cycle.
The governor who underscored the importance of reconciliation, inclusiveness and party cohesion, said the APC remains one family whose collective interest must be placed above individual ambitions.
Also, he directed members of the committees to execute their assignment with fairness, sincerity and commitment .
He explained that such principles could consolidate the party across the state, declaring that the party will start immediate refunds to all aspirants for the National Assembly and state House Assembly.
High Chief Edem Duke is chairman, Southern Senatorial district with Effiong Bassey as secretary.
Other members are Ekpo Bassey, William Archibong, Prof. Paul Itari, Mrs. Kate Okon and David Okon.
For the Central Senatorial District, Chief Ebuta Ayuk was appointed as chairman while Bassey Okim is the secretary.
Others are Bolaji Anani, Prof. Anim Ajake, Prof. John Inyang, Chief George Ekpungu and Prof. Alice Ekwu as members.
Also, Larry Odey is chairman of the Northern Senatorial District while Mike Aniah is secretary with Chief Signor Idiege, Chief Tony Udiandeye, Rita Ayim, Paddy Ogar and Maurice Evey as members.
