Governor Bala Muhammed of Bauchi state has launched the 2025 wet farming season with the sale of NPK fertilizer at a subsidized rate of N20,000 per bag and other farm implements to support farmers in the state.

During the flagging-off ceremony in Gaji Duguri in Alkaleri local government area of state, governor Bala said that the state government is ready to commit over N4 billion to the state’s new advanced mechanised agricultural project.
“We are committed to repositioning agriculture in Bauchi. With timely provision of inputs and sustained investment in rural infrastructure, we aim to empower our farmers and strengthen the agricultural value chain,” he said.
He also commended the ACRESAL project, as it has trained 120 youth in 9 LGAs and announced plans to implement a robust mechanised agriculture system, as they will given farming tools and cash sum of 300000 and 400000 respectively.
Governor Mohammed said the fertiliser price would be subsidised to N20,000 per bag of NPK, making it more affordable for farmers in the state.
The governor announced his administration’s approval to grant civil servants from level 12 downwards 2 days off to work on their farms to conquer hunger.
He further stated that he has trained 1000 youth and women on modern farming techniques and another 1000 will still be trained.
