Tyson Fury has predicted a knockout victory over Anthony Joshua, claiming he will stop the Nigerian-British heavyweight inside seven rounds when they meet at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on December 11.
Fury made the prediction in his first comments since the long-awaited bout was confirmed, describing Joshua as a stepping stone towards another potential clash with Oleksandr Usyk.
Speaking on the Furocity YouTube channel, the former heavyweight champion said he expects a one-sided contest.
“I’m just going to knock him out, one hundred per cent,” Fury said.
“I’m going to box the head off him and stop him inside six or seven rounds.
“I’m only using Joshua as a stepping stone, a warm-up to Usyk.”
Fury, who lost twice to Usyk in 2024, said his focus after facing Joshua would be another opportunity against the Ukrainian boxer.
The British heavyweight also questioned Joshua’s physical condition, claiming the former two-time world champion lacks the speed and stamina needed to compete with him.
“Joshua, for me, is an old bum. A weightlifter. Too many weights, not enough speed. Too many weights, no cardio. So I will cut through him like a hot knife through butter,” Fury said.
The December fight will bring together two of Britain’s biggest heavyweight names, with both fighters seeking a statement victory on a major stage.
