The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four siblings in connection with the alleged killing of a security guard during an early-morning attack in Jama’are.
According to a press release issued by the Command, the incident occurred on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at about 3:55 a.m., when local hunters reported an attack on three private security guards at a farm belonging to Idris Waziri Kwamawa in the area.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) immediately led a patrol team to the scene, where one of the guards, identified as Bello Bura, 40, was found dead.
Two other guards, Sani Hussaini, 32, and Gidado Mohammed, 32, both from Jadauvi village in Gamawa Local Government Area, were found injured.
The injured victims were rushed to the General Hospital for treatment, where a medical doctor confirmed the death of Bello Bura. His remains were later released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
Police said six suspects were initially detained in connection with the incident. However, four siblings have now been formally held for alleged culpable homicide. They were identified as Chidawa Ahmadu, 25; Adamu Ahmadu, 20; Usman Ahmadu, 15; and Yusuf Ahmadu, 22, all from Bediri village via Jumbori in Jama’are Local Government Area.
The Command also disclosed that three cutlasses, two sticks and a torchlight were recovered from the suspects during the investigation.
The Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency contact channels.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
