The College for Qur’anic Science and Islamic Studies of a reknown Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman, has been destroyed by by fire at Rafin Albasa in Bauchi State.
The incident that happened brought devastation on the College
storey buildings, destroyed offices, classrooms, laboratories , computer rooms, libraries as well as a staff room on the upper floor of the school.
The cause of the infano which destroyed clothing materials, mattresses, blankets and other valuables belongings of Staff and students is yet to be ascertained.
Director General of Education Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation Sayyadi Aliyu Sise Dahiru, who spoke to Journalists when he conducted them round the school, commiserated with the Staff and students of the College.
He, thanked the Almighty Allah as there was no loss of life. And no student sustained any injury.
Director General said: “ College was established by Maulana Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, and it was affiliated with All Azhar University Cairo, and it was commissioned by the former by President Architect Muhammad Namadi Sambo.
“The college offers western education side-by-side islamic education as well as entrepreneural skills, to its students to make them productive members of the society.
“We thank the almighty Allah the incident happened after School Hours in the evening , we thank the men of the State Fire Service that spent over three hours before they put off the fire.
He said books that were belonged to Maulana Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, Late Dr Hadi Sheikh Dahiru, late Ahmad Sheikh Dahiru and many Islamic Scholars was destroyed during the inferno.
Director of the State Fire Service who spoke through Moh’d L Abubakar said “as a result of the incident, the fire burnt the School, properties and valuable document which include: Library Books about Five Thousand (5,000), Students Mattresses Two Hundred and Fifty (250), Beds Two Hundred and Fifty (250), Carpet 355 metres, Wardrobes/Lockers Twenty four (24), Students chairs Three Hundred (300), Students Food stuffs in the store Rice- 60 bags, Beans 25 Bags, Palm oil-12 Jerrican, Groundnut oil 13 Jerrican, Maggie/onga/Salt 15Catoons, Mats Forty three pics (43), Robber Cattle One Hundred and Fifty Pics (150), Students cloths One Thousand Five Hundred Eighty Three (1,583), Students writing and text books seven thousand two hundred and twenty eight pics (7228), students plates three hundred and seventeen pics (317), teachers cloths eighty nine sets (89). hand sets three (3), students credentials “
