The Federal Polytechnic Bauchi has been shut down indefinitely as students protest the alleged attack by armed men in various hostels on Monday night.
As a result the management announced the immediate closure of the institution on Tuesday.
The protest by students of the Federal Polytechnic on Tuesday who blocked the institution’s main gates after armed men allegedly attacked several hostels on Monday night, injuring students and carting away valuables.

The protest turned tense as suspected hoodlums tried to hijack it, blocking the federal highway near the campus.
Police fired tear gas to disperse the crowd, prompting some students to retaliate with stones before being overpowered.
SUG President Haruna Umar condemned the attack, calling it the first of its kind in the institution’s history.
“This is students showing their grievances to management and authorities,”The school management in a statement has announced the immediate closure of the Polytechnic.
