The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has issued a circular directing all staff to resume duties immediately, following a court order suspending the ongoing industrial action.
The directive was contained in a circular numbered FCTA/HOs/S.1/019/Vol. I/006 and signed by the Ag. Head of the Civil Service, Mrs. Nancy Sabantรญ Nathan.
The circular cites the order issued earlier today by Honourable Justice E. D. Subilim of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, which mandated the suspension of the strike declared by the FCT Administration’s Joint Union Action Committee (JUAC).
“Accordingly, all Staff are to resume duties immediately at their various duty posts,” the circular stated.
The administration has further instructed all Permanent Secretaries, Coordinators, and Heads of Departments and Agencies to enforce compliance by maintaining staff attendance registers.
While enforcing the resumption, the FCTA management reiterated its commitment to staff welfare, a central issue in the dispute that led to the strike.
“The contents of this circular [should be brought] to the attention of all concerned for immediate compliance,” the notice concluded.
