Omoyele Sowore has alleged that Datti Baba-Ahmed knew Peter Obi was a “packaged fraud” before agreeing to become his running mate in the 2023 presidential election.
The AAC presidential candidate made this claim on X while reacting to recent comments by Datti, who reportedly said Obi, Atiku Abubakar, and other political figures cannot provide solutions to Nigeria’s problems.
Sowore said Datti’s remarks confirmed what he already knew from their time together on the Labour Party ticket. “He knew Peter Obi, whom he deputised, was a packaged fraud. That needs no repeating, he just revealed what he knew up close,” Sowore wrote.
He also revisited the 2023 Peace Accord ceremony, claiming he sat beside Datti and observed his interaction with President Bola Tinubu. Sowore said he raised concerns at the time about the relationship between Obi, Datti, and Tinubu, but his comments were dismissed by Labour Party supporters.
Sowore said those who criticised him then now understand better. He urged Nigerians to carefully evaluate political candidates ahead of the 2027 election and avoid electing what he called “packaged” personalities.
