Dangote Industries Limited has announced its sponsorship of the 2025 Abuja International Trade Fair, reinforcing its commitment to support industrialisation and boost trade within Africa.
The company described its partnership with the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), the event organiser, as strategic. The fair is scheduled to open on September 25, 2025.
In a statement on Sunday, the Group said the event offers a valuable opportunity to engage with key stakeholders and strengthen intra-African trade and investments. It also provides a platform to showcase innovative products and the company’s role in Nigeria’s sustainable development.
Anthony Chiejina, Group spokesman, stated that Aliko Dangote, the company’s president, is particularly supportive of the ACCI due to its location in the capital city, which hosts policymakers and diplomatic communities.
The theme for this year’s fair, “Sustainability: Consumption, Incentives, and Taxation,” aligns with the Group’s core values, he added.
Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, Senior Adviser to the President of Dangote Group, said: “Dangote Industries Limited is a recognised market leader in Africa, yet it is not resting on its oars. Nearly all our Strategic Business Units will be showcasing innovative products at the fair, ranging from sugar, cement, salt, fertiliser, trucks, Dangote Peugeot Automobile, packaging materials, seasoning, petroleum products, and more.”
She expressed strong support for the Chamber’s planned “Buy Africa, Build Africa” (BABA) initiative, noting that the conglomerate has long promoted local content and driven intra-African trade.
Meanwhile, the President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chief Emeka Obegolu, told journalists that the 12-day fair is expected to attract over 100,000 participants. These will include government agencies, multinational companies, small businesses, diplomatic missions, and development partners.
Exhibitions will cover sectors such as agriculture, fintech, sustainable energy, transportation, and creative industries.
Obegolu highlighted the partnership with Dangote as a key feature of the event. “Our collaboration with Dangote reflects our commitment to driving economic growth, strengthening trade, and creating opportunities for businesses and communities. The Dangote Group’s active participation in the 20th edition of the Trade Fair further demonstrates its role as a key player in Nigeria’s industrial and commercial landscape,” he said.
The Director-General of ACCI, Dr. Agabaidu Jideani, also emphasised the importance of the partnership. He said participants like Dangote stand to benefit through market access, networking, brand visibility, and green opportunities.
“The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) highly values its long-standing partnership with the Dangote Group, which has been a consistent supporter of the Abuja International Trade Fair and other initiatives that promote commerce and industry in Nigeria,” Jideani said.
He added that the collaboration enhances the global reach of the fair and supports the Chamber’s mission of promoting sustainable development and investment.
