President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted the names of 32 additional ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation, significantly expanding the nation’s diplomatic roster. This follows his initial submission of three names just days prior.
In two separate letters to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the President requested the expeditious confirmation of 15 career ambassadors and 17 non-career ambassadors.

Information and Strategy, the list includes ten female nominees, with four on the career list and six on the non-career list.
The non-career nominees feature several prominent figures, including former Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode; and former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Otunba Femi Pedro. Other notable designates are former First Lady of Ekiti State, Erelu Angela Adebayo, and former Senator from Plateau, Professor Nora Ladi Daduut.
The career ambassador-designates include Enebechi Monica Okwuchukwu from Abia, Yakubu Nyaku Danladi from Taraba, and Ambassador Olatunji Ahmed Sulu Gambari from Kwara.
These new nominees are expected to be posted to countries with which Nigeria maintains strategic bilateral relations, such as China, India, the United States, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as to Permanent Missions like the United Nations.
