A military faction has reportedly announced a coup on national television, dissolving the government of Benin.
Lieutenant-Colonel Pascal Tigri has been declared the leader of the new “Military Committee for Refoundation.”
The group stated it has overthrown President Patrice Talon, whose whereabouts are now unknown.
