Two senators from Rivers State loyal to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, have officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The senators are Barry Mpigi and Onyesoh Alwell.
Their move follows an earlier defection today by six members of the Rivers State House of Representatives, also aligned with Minister Wike, who crossed from the PDP to the APC during a plenary session.
The representatives are:
· Hon. Solomon Bob
· Hon. Victor Obuzor
· Hon. Dumnamene Dekor
· Hon. Cyril Hart
· Hon. Blessing Amadi
· Hon. Felix Nwaeke
This coordinated defection marks a substantial loss for the PDP and a major gain for the APC in the state’s political landscape.
