Barely 24 hours after Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso dumped the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), armed thugs on Monday went wild and invaded the venue of the NDC Congress in Enugu.
Reliable eyewitnesses told Spear News that scores of NDC supporters and members had gathered at the Aborigene Hall, located in Enugu before the violent invasion.
An eyewitness account told Spear News that pandemonium suddenly began after a motion was called for the dissolution of the Interim State Working Committee, armed thugs overran the programme, ordering everybody to quit the venue.
He said, “They started by bringing down some of the banners and then ordered everyone out of the place.
“They joined the NDC just yesterday, Sunday, after Mr Peter Obi defected to the party, now they want to hijack the entire structure”.
Though, the event later resumed activities and, finally declared Dr. Johnpaul Anih, as new State Chairman who was the former aide to ex-governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
