The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed that the existing zoning arrangement for its National Working Committee (NWC) positions will remain unchanged ahead of the party’s 2026 National Convention.
In a press release issued on Monday from the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, the APC clarified that the current distribution of NWC positions across states within the six geo-political zones is still valid and will serve as the official template for the upcoming convention.
According to the statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, this directive is in line with the party’s already published 2026 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses, National Convention, and Related Activities.
The party warned all prospective aspirants intending to purchase and submit Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for national offices to be strictly guided by the existing zoning arrangement.
“The current distribution of NWC positions across states within the various geo-political zones has not been altered and will serve as the valid template for the upcoming National Convention,” the statement read.
“Consequently, all aspirants intending to purchase and submit Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for national offices are hereby advised to be strictly guided by this existing zoning arrangement in their respective pursuits.”
The clarification by the APC is expected to put to rest speculations regarding possible changes to the party’s zoning formula and provide clarity for aspirants planning to contest for NWC positions in the 2026 convention.
