Ms.Comfort Emmanson, the passenger involved in the recent Ibom Air event, did not appear for a meeting with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) as planned.
The investigation session, convened at NCAA headquarters in Abuja to investigate the August 10 incident, included members of the Aviation Security (AVSEC) and the involved cabin crew, though Emmanson was conspicuously absent.
According to a report by LEADERSHIP, findings showed that Emmanson missed the meeting because she was unprepared for the flight due to the earlier airport drama.
It was also discovered that the NCAA has arranged for her to meet in Lagos to forestall any drama that could happen at the airport for now.
According to the source, who spoke anonymously, “The meeting was held, and it was basically to hear their side of what actually happened. However, Ms Emmanson did not come, possibly because of the flight ban issues and airport drama. The interaction with her would be in Lagos. It’s part of a holistic investigation.”
The meeting followed Tuesday’s announcement by Michael Achimugu, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs, who confirmed that Emmanson and other involved parties had been contacted and summoned for questioning.
Achimugu stated the investigation’s purpose was to bring clarity to the widely publicized event, which led to Emmanson being briefly jailed before the court secured her release.
